Whitney Houston and Dana Bash
Whitney Elizabeth Houston was the youngest child of singer Dionne Warswick, and gospel music star Cissy Houston. Whitney Elizabeth Houston grew up in a family that was musical. In Newark Whitney, she began singing with the church choir as a small child. at the age of 15, she accompanied her mother backing vocals in Chaka's smash Im Every Woman from 1978. Later, she provided background vocals for Lou Rawls & Jermaine jackson and her mother. Her first gig was as a lead performer for the The New York-based New York Funk band Material. Her quality of vocal work earned her the attention of big record labels like Arista who signed her in 1983. The first Whitney Houston album was released in 1985. It became one of the best-selling albums by an artist. On the album, she came out with several hits such as Saving all My Love for You How Are You Going to Know If You're Good to Love And The More Love of All. This resulted in her having seven US Number Ones consecutively. The singer beat the Beatles. It was the first US year the album had sold more than 3 million copies. After that, it was to be bought by over 25 million people worldwide, earning her the first Grammy. The follow-up album released in 1987 Whitney which included the hits What Do Broken Hearts Go and I Wanna Dance With Somebody built on her success but it was 1992's film The Bodyguard (1992) that established her as one of the best-selling artists ever. The Bodyguard's performance as a film as well as its soundtrack weren't well-received but her Dolly Parton cover I Will Always Love You as well as The Bodyguard album that accompanied it topped charts across the world for months. That same year she married the former New Edition singer Bobby Brown with whom she has a single child Bobbi Kristina Brown in March 1993. At this point the drug use became well documented and she started using it daily by 1996.
Dana Bash also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz is an American reporter anchorwoman and political reporter for CNN. The shows she hosts on weekends comprise Evans & Novak Late Edition, Inside Politics and Inside Politics.
