Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine has a unique style which combines R&B with soul, gospel music, and R&B. Avery Sunshine's performances have been on Broadway and at festivals in Europe, as well as the Democratic National Convention. The real name of Sunshine is Denise White. While she's based in Atlanta, her roots are located in Chester Pennsylvania. There she started to pursue a musical career as a singer and pianist at church. After attending Spellman College, Atlanta she embarked on her journey of music in the Atlanta's R&B music scene. In 2005, she became the keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award-winning performer) approached her for a position as director of the choral section of Dreamgirls in Atlanta for the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine gained national recognition for four daily performances during the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was chosen to sing as part of President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
